In the early morning of December 21st, 2014, TSPD Officer Charles R. Kondek Jr. was killed in the line of duty after he responded to a noise complaint. Shortly after he arrived on scene he was shot and killed by a suspect.
Officer Kondek is the most recent and hopefully last Fallen Hero in the history of the Tarpon Springs Police Department. Today we honor his Memory, Service and Sacrifice and continue to pray for his family, friends and colleagues during this tragic day of remembrance.
Officer Kondek had served with the Tarpon Springs Police Department for 17 years and had previously served with the New York City Police Department for five years. He is survived by his wife and six children
